Relevance of Th22 cells and IL-22 expression with tumor markers in peripheral blood of patients with hepato-cellular carcinoma
Abstract:Objective To investigate the level of Th22 cells and IL-22 in peripheral blood of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma ( HCC ) and their correlation with tumor markers .Methods Th22 cells in blood samples from 45 patients with HCC and 15 normal controls were detected by flow cytometry ( FCM) .IL-22 levels were detected by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay .Statistical analysis of the relevance of Th 22 cells, IL-22 levels and tumor markers including AFP, CA125, CA193, CA199, CEA was performed. Results The level of Th22 cells and IL-22 in peripheral blood of patients with primary hepatic carcinoma were significantly higher than that of normal controls ( P<0.05), but no significant between male and female group .The percentage of Th22 cells in HCC patients had positive correlation with the level of IL-22.Th22 cells, IL-22 levels had no correlation with tumor markers including AFP , CA125, CA193, CA199, CEA(P>0.05).Conclusion The levels of Th22 cells and IL-22 expression in peripheral blood of HCC patients are high but have no correlation with tumor markers and their clinical significance in HCC still need large clinical sample analysis .
