Clinical observation of pemetrexed in second-line treatment of non-small cell lung cancer
Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effect and toxicity of pemetrexed monotherapy in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods Twenty-five patients with advanced NSCLC diagnosed by pathology or cytology were enrolled into the study .The patients received pemetrexed 500 mg/m 2 on d1, intrave-nously every 21 days as one cycle and the effects were evaluated after 2~4 cycles.Results The total response rate was 8%.The clinical benefit rate was 72%.The main toxicity was Grade Ⅰ~Ⅱhematological toxicity.Conclusion Pemetrexed is an effective therapy for the patients with advanced NSCLC .Its efficacy is better,the toxicities can be tolerated and is worth clinical promotion .
