Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of Southern Shaolin cervical spine health exercises in young patients with upper crossed syndrome. Methods A total of 90 patients with upper crossed syndrome and admitted to Quanzhou Orthopedic-traumatological Hospital between April 2023 and April 2024 were selected using convenience sampling. They were divided into an observation group and a control group, each of 45,according to a random number table. The control group received conventional cervical spine health exercises, while the observation group received Southern Shaolin cervical spine health exercises. The forward head angle, rounded shoulder angle, neck pain, and neck disability index were compared between the two groups. Results After 8 weeks of intervention, the observation group showed significantly lower forward head angle and forward shoulder angle compared to the control group(t=3.387,P=0.003;t=3.525,P=0.002).Moreover,the scores of neck pain and neck disability index of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(t=7.721,P<0.001;t=5.259,P<0.001).Conclusion Southern Shaolin cervical spine health exercises are effective in relieving neck pain, improving poor posture and enhancing cervical motor function. Therefore,it is worth of further clinical trials and broader application.
