Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of non-nutritive sucking combined with music therapy on the pain of dorsal hand vein puncture in neonates. Methods By using the convenience sampling method,146 newborns admitted to the NICU of Fujian Children's Hospital between March 2024 and March 2025 were selected, and randomly divided into a control group(n=48),a non-nutritive sucking group(n=49),and a combination group(n=49)according to a random number table. All groups received conventional venipuncture, while the non-nutritive sucking and combination groups were additionally provided with non-nutritive sucking intervention, and non-nutritive sucking+music therapy intervention, respectively. The degree of pain from venipuncture and the fluctuations in heart rate were compared among the three groups. Results At the time of puncture and 5 minutes after that, there were significant differences in pain scores and heart rates among the three groups(F=10.949,P<0.001;F=3.623,P=0.030;F=7.666,P<0.001;F=9.853,P<0.001).Conclusion Non-nutritive sucking combined with music therapy can alleviate the pain of dorsal hand vein puncture in newborns and maintain heart rate stability. It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
