Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of pre-rehabilitation in children undergoing enterostomy surgery. Methods By using the convenience sampling method,84 children who underwent enterostomy surgery and were admitted to Wuhan Children's Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College,Huazhong University of Science and Technology between June 2021 and June 2024 were selected as the research subjects. Those 43 operated between June 2021 and February 2023 were set as the control group, while another 41 operated between March 2023 and June 2024 were set as the observation group. Both groups received conventional care, while the observation group was additionally provided with pre-rehabilitation nursing intervention. The skin conditions around the stoma, the time of first spontaneous defecation and first water intake after secondary fistula closure surgery, and the occurrence of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results The degree of skin injury around the stoma in the observation group was significantly milder than that of the control group(Z=-8.216,P<0.001),the incidences of postoperative complications was significantly lower(x2=4.385,P=0.036),while the time of first spontaneous defecation and first water intake after secondary fistula closure was significantly earlier than the latter(t=5.318,P<0.001;t=2.660,P=0.010).Conclusion Pre-rehabilitation nursing can reduce the degree of skin injury around the stoma in children with enterostomy, lower the incidence of complications after fistula closure surgery, and promote their recovery of intestinal function.
