Development of emergency nurse disaster preparedness measurement scale and its reliability and validity testing

Abstract：Objective To develop an emergency nurse disaster preparedness measurement scale,and test its reliability and validity,so as to provide a reference for evaluating emergency nurses' disaster preparedness.Methods The draft of the scale was formed after literature review,qualitative research and Delphi method.Then,between September and October 2024,310 emergency nurses were chosen from 8 grade-A tertiary hospitals in Fujian province and surveyed to test its reliability and validity.Results The final scale consisted of 5 dimensions and 23 items,with a total Cronbach's alpha of 0.879 and a retest reliability of 0.902.The overall content validity index of the scale was 0.822,and exploratory factor analysis extracted 5 factors with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 70.11％.Conclusion The emergency nurse disaster preparedness scale has scientificity,practicality and good reliability and validity.
