Application of Learn-Think-Express combined with I-E-O teaching model in clinical training of emergency department intern nursing students

Abstract：Objective To explore the application effect of Learn-Think-Express combined with the I-E-Oteaching model in clinical teaching of emergency nursing students.Methods A total of 76 nursing students who practiced in the emergency department of Wuhan central hospital from October 2023 to March 2024 were selected and divided into an experimental group and a control group,each of 38,according to the parity of their rotation months.The control group was given the traditional clinical teaching,while the experimental group underwent Learn-Think-Express combined with the I-E-Oteaching for 4 weeks.Then,the theoretical knowledge scores,practical skill scores,and core job competency were compared between the two groups.Results After training,the theoretical knowledge and practical skill scores of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group(t=-5.483,P＜0.001;t=-5.103,P＜0.001).Moreover,the scores of all dimensions and the total score of core competency were also significantly better than those of the control group(all P＜0.001).Conclusion The new teaching method can significantly improve the theoretical knowledge,practical skills and core job competency of emergency nursing students,and it is worth clinical promotion.
