Health promotion behavior management of patients after percutaneous coronary intervention based on integrated theory of health behavior change:a qualitative study

Abstract:Objective Based on the integrated theory of health behavior change,this paper explores the current status of health promotion behavior management in patients after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI),so as to provide references for promotion.Methods Using phenomenological research methods,15 patients who underwent PCI in department of cardiology the second affiliated hospital between March and April 2024 were selected for semi-structured interviews,and the data collected were analyzed using the Colaizzi 7-step method.Results Four main themes were extracted,including insufficient awareness of diseases,self-efficacy guiding management belief,self-regulation ability needing improvement,and multiple factors influencing health promotion behaviors.Conclusion Healthcare professionals should implement personalized education,to enhance patients' self-efficacy,guide them to establish positive beliefs and cultivate their self-regulation skills,so as to improve their health promotion behaviors.
