Abstract:Objective To identify and summarize the best evidence for the application of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)appropriate techniques in the elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI),with the aim of providing a reference for clinical practice. Methods A comprehensive search was conducted in domestic and international databases to retrieve evidence on TCM appropriate techniques for the elderly patients with MCI,with the time setting from the inception of the databases till September 10,2024.Two researchers independently evaluated the quality of the included studies, extracted relevant data, and integrated the evidence. Results A total of 17 studies were selected, including 2 guidelines,1 clinical decision-making article,1 position statement,1 expert consensus,7 systematic reviews, and 5 randomized controlled trials. The evidence was summarized into 20 recommendations across five categories:acupuncture therapy, traditional Chinese medicine exercise therapy, acupoint massage therapy, moxibustion therapy, and auricular therapy. Conclusion TCM appropriate techniques can improve the cognitive function in elderly patients with MCI.Therefore, medical staff should consider patient-specific factors and clinical contexts to optimize TCM interventions for MCI patients and enhance their scientific management.
