Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of applying family-participatory nursing in premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit. Methods Eighty premature infants hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit of Wuxi maternal and child health hospital in 2023 were selected as the research subjects, along with their main caregivers. The infants were divided into a control group and an observation group, each of 40,according to a random number table. The control group received routine care, while the observation group was given family-participatory care. The caregiving ability and their negative emotions,as well as the growth and development of infants were compared between the two groups. Results After the intervention, the score of the care ability of the main caregivers in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(t=-18.737,P<0.001),while that of anxiety and depression were both significantly lower than the latter(t=8.895,P<0.001;t=17.733,P<0.001).Moreover,the body length and body weight of premature infants in the observation group were significantly superior to the latter group(t=—8.146,P<0.001;t=-3.376,P<0.001).Conclusion The application of family-participatory care in premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit can improve the care ability of family members, alleviate their negative emotions, and promote the growth and development of premature infants.
