Application of O-AMAS teaching model in clinical nursing teaching of undergraduates in the head and neck oncology surgery

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of O-AMAS effective teaching model in clinical nursing teaching of undergraduates in the head and neck oncology surgery.Methods By convenient sampling,43 nursing undergraduates who were doing practice in head and neck oncology surgery were selected as the research subjects.Twenty nursing undergraduates in internship between July 2022 and April 2023 were selected into the control group,and 23 interns between July 2023 and April 2024 were chosen into the observation group,using the convenient sampling.The control group was given traditional clinical teaching,while the observation group was provided with the O-AMAS effective teaching model.The results of theory and skill assessment,independent learning ability and teaching satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Results The theory and skill assessment score,independent learning score and teaching satisfaction of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(t=13.021,P＜0.001;t=9.380,P＜0.001;t=4.572,P＜0.001;t=5.770,P＜0.001).Conclusion The O-AMAS teaching model can improve the teaching effect,students'independent learning ability and teaching satisfaction.Therefore,it is worthy of application in clinical teaching.
