Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of serious game intervention in elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI)combined with depressive symptom. Methods Totally 102 MCI patients combined with depressive symptom and treated in our hospital between May 2023 and May 2024 were selected, and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each of 51.Both groups were given routine intervention, while the observation group was additionally provided with serious game intervention for 3 months. Before and after the 3-month intervention, both groups were evaluated using the geriatric depression scale(GDS),Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA),Montreal cognitive assessment scale(MoCA),Rey auditory verbal learning test(RAVLT)and activities of daily living scale(ADL).Results After 3-month intervention, the GDS,HAMA and ADL scores of the observation group were significantly lower than that of the control group(t=6.209,P<0.001;t=10.277,P<0.001;t=5.608,P<0.001),while the MoCA scores, the instantaneous backward and forward recitation scores,as well as the RAVLT score of the former were significantly higher than the latter group(t=-3.806,P<0.001;t=-4.797,P<0.001;t=-18.656,P<0.001;t=-7.419,P<0.001).Conclusion Serious game intervention can effectively alleviate depression and anxiety in elderly MCI patients combined with depressive symptom, and improve their cognitive function.
