Abstract:Objective To investigate the changes and influencing factors of social constraints among stoma patients with colorectal cancer. Methods Three days after their stoma surgery,as well as one and three months after discharge,251 colorectal cancer patients were surveyed using the general information questionnaire, the 15-item social constraint scale(SCS-15),and the social impact scale(SIS).Results Three days after their stoma surgery,as well as one and three months after discharge, the scores of social constraints were(29.12±6.51),(28.93±6.30)and(27.96±5.66)points,respectively.It was found that the gender, family income,self-care ability for ostomy, social influence were the main influencing factors of social constraints(P<0.05).Conclusion Social constraints of stoma patients with colorectal cancer show an overall decreasing trend over time.Special attention should be paid to the social constraints in male patients with low-income,relying on family members for ostomy care and high stigma, and targeted intervention measures should be taken to relieve their social constraints and promote their physical and mental health.
