Current status of puerperal pelvic floor muscle training compliance in women with gestational diabetes mellitus and its influencing factors

Abstract:Objective To investigate the status quo of pelvic floor muscle training compliance in puerperal women with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM),and analyze the influencing factors.Methods A total of 180 GDM women registering and giving birth between June and November 2021 in grade-A tertiary hospitals in Quanzhou city were selected and surveyed using a general condition questionnaire,the pelvic floor muscle training compliance questionnaire,Chinese version of postpartum social support scale and pelvic floor muscle training self-efficacy scale.Results The score of pelvic floor muscle training compliance was(8.24±1.52)points.The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that education level,postpartum social support level and self-efficacy were independent influencing factors for the training compliance(R2=0.705,adjusted R2=0.703;F=67.327,P<0.001).Conclusion Postpartum pelvic floor muscle training compliance of GDM parturients is at a low level.Special attention should be given to parturients with lower education level,postpartum social support and self-efficacy,and targeted measures should be taken to improve their compliance,thus promoting postpartum rehabilitation.
