A scoping review of assessment tools for oral frailty in the elderly

Abstract：Objective To summarize the evaluation tools of oral weakness in the elderly at home and abroad,so as to provide references for clinical medical staff to select suitable assessment tools for oral frailty screening.Methods A systematic search was conducted for the studies on the assessment tools of oral frailty in the elderly in both Chinese and English databases,and the results were analyzed and standardized for reporting using the Joanna Briggs institute scoping review guidelines as a methodological framework.Results Finally,7 oral frailty evaluation tools and a total of 7 articles were included.Conclusion The evaluation tools studied are without unifying indicators,of different evaluation purposes and explanations.Some of them donot provide reliability and validyty.Their reliability and validity need further confirming,and localized,comprehensive and effective specific assessment tools should be further developed and introduced.
