Current situation of the health care needs of the elderly in the community and its influencing factors

Abstract：Objective To understand the current situation of health care needs of the elderly in the community and analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide the basis for the establishment of the elderly care service system in the community.Methods By using the convenience sampling method,269 elderly people in community were surveyed using a general data questionnaire,Barthel index rating scale and health care needs of the elderly questionnaire.Results The score of health care needs of the elderly was(66.92±26.41)points.The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that age,chronic diseases history,occupation and self-care ability were independent factors influencing the health care needs of the elderly(R2=0.192,△ R2=0.167,F=11.751,P＜0.001).Conclusion The health care needs of the elderly in the community are high and diversified,especially for those with senior age,poor self-care ability and chronic diseases.Therefore,personalized and diversified services should be provided and community elderly care service system should be perfected to better the life quality of the elderly in the community.
