Abstract:Objective To evaluate the application effect of virtual reality technology in maintenance hemodialysis patients. Methods Randomized controlled trials and quasi-experiments of the effect of virtual reality technology on maintenance hemodialysis patients were searched in the Cochrane Library,PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,CINAHL,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,VIP Database, and Wanfang Database.Literature screening, data extraction and quality evaluation were conducted by two researchers independently. Then, the meta-analysis was performed using the RevMan 5.4 software. Results Seven articles were finally included, involving a total of 315 patients.Meta-analysis results show that virtual reality technology can significantly improve the physiological functions[MD=11.68,95%CI(5.38,17.98),P<0.01],physiological functions[MD=18.41,95%CI(9.93,26.89),P<0.01],general health status[MD=9.23,95%CI(3.77,14.68),P<0.01],vitality[MD=11.90,95%CI(5.71,18.08),P<0.01]and mental health[MD=19.14,95%CI(8.80,29.47),P<0.01],but significantly relieve body pain[MD=8.75,95%CI(2.12,15.37),P=0.01].Moreover,significant improvement was observed in such physical function as the number of sitting-standing-sitting within 60 seconds[MD=4.61,95%CI(0.41,8.82),P=0.03].Conclusion Virtual reality technology can improve the life quality and some physical functions of maintenance hemodialysis patients, but the effect on depression is not obvious.
