Effects of individualized exercise guided by intelligent 6-minute walking test on elderly patients with diabetes

Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of individualized exercise guided by intelligent 6-minute walking test on elderly patients with diabetes.Methods A total of 95 elderly diabetic patients treated between June 2022 and December 2022 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group(n=49)and a control group(n=46).The control group underwent weekly 150-minute exercise at moderate intensity,while the observation group was given individualized exercise intervention according to the results of the intelligent 6-minute walking test.Before and after 12-week intervention,both groups were evaluated their total cholesterol,triglyceride,fasting blood glucose,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and body mass index(BMI).Results After 12-week intervention,the BMI,total cholesterol,triglyceride,fasting blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin of the observation group were significantly lower than that of the control group(t=2.327,P=0.022;t=2.134,P=0.035;t=2.480,P=0.015;t=2.295,P= 0.024;t=2.050,P=0.043).Conclusion The individualized exercise based on the guidance of 6-minute walking test can effectively reduce their glycemic and BMI.
