Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of breast milk odor stimulation on the development indicators of premature infants. Methods Totally 100 premature infants admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of our hospital between February 2022 and March 2023 were selected, and divided into a control group and an intervention group, each of 50,according to a random number table. Both groups were given routine nursing measures, while the intervention group was additionally provided with breast milk odor stimulation. The body length, weight and head circumference at one and 30 days after the birth were recorded and compared between the two groups. Results Thirty days after their birth, the body weight, body length and head circumference of the intervention group were significantly better than that of the control group(t=-2.218,P=0.029;t=-2.241,P=0.027;t=-2.846,P= 0.005).Conclusion Breast milk odor stimulation can improve the growth and development of premature infants, which is beneficial to such infants and can be popularized.
