The application of the teaching mode of picture dialogue in the clinical teaching of nursing students in endocrinology department

Abstract：Objective To explore the application of the teaching mode of picture dialogue in the clinical teaching of nursing students in the endocrinology department. Methods Using the convenience sampling method, 30 nursing students practicing in the second half of 2016 were chosen into the control group, while another 30 counterparts doing in the second half of 2017 were selected into the observation group. The control group was taught using the traditional multimedia teaching mode, while the observation group was taught using the teaching mode of the picture dialogue. The nursing theory, operational skill, satisfaction and critical thinking were compared between the two groups. Results The theory and skill assessment scores (t=6.680, P＜0.001; t=3.080, P=0.003), and the satisfaction of the observation group were significantly higher than that of the control group. The five dimensions of the critical thinking, including the analysis ability, confidence, systematized ability, open thinking and the desire for knowledge of the observation group were significantly higher than that of the control group. Conclusion The picture dialogue teaching mode used in the clinical teaching of nursing students in endocrinology department can significantly promote the theory and operational skill level, as well as the critical thinking ability of nursing students and their satisfaction to teaching, which is worthy of popularization and application.
