Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of early standardized and systematic nursing intervention on preventing neonatal hyperbilirubinemia. Methods Totally 468 full-term newborns born between March 2013 and April 2014 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group (n= 241)and a control group (n= 227).Both groups were given conventional nursing, while the observation group was additionally provided with early standardized and systematic nursing.Percutaneous tested neonatal j aundice index and physiological changes in body weight were recorded.Guardians'satisfaction towards nursing and hospitalization due to hyperbilirubinemia were compared between the 2 groups. Results At 2 to 6 days old,the percutaneous tested neonatal jaundice indexes of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, while at 3 to 6 days old,the physiological decrease in weight of the former was significantly lower than the latter. The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was 97.5%,significantly higher than 89.0% of the control group. The rate of hospitalization due to hyperbilirubinemia was 8.7%,significantly lower than the latter(17.2%).Conclusion Early standardized and systematic nursing helps lower the bilirubin level, promote physiological weight restoration and reduce the hospitalization rate due to hyperbilirubinemia and improve guardians'satisfaction with the nursing.
