Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention on preventing urinary retention after radical hysterectomy. Methods A total of 108 patients to receive radical hysterectomy between Janurary 2013 and May 2015 were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, each of 54.Both groups were given routine postoperative nursing care, while the observation group was additionally provided with bladder exercises. Then the incidence of urinary retention, catheter indwelling time and patients'satisfaction were compared between the 2 groups. Results The catheter indwelling time of the observation group[(14.7 ± 2.6)d],was significantly shorter than that of the control group [(16.9 ± 3.2)d].After removing the catheter, the residual volume and urinary retention of the former group were significantly lower than those of the control group, but the patients′satisfaction was significantly higher than the latter. Conclusions Integrated nursing intervention can significantly reduce urinary retention, residual volume and shorten the catheter indwelling time,so which promote patients'life quality and satisfaction.
