The clinical effect of PICC catheter for nutritional support for blood cancer patients

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical effect of PICC catheter for nutritional support for blood cancer patients.Methods Totally 184 patients with blood cancer,were selected and randomly divided into a research group and a control group,each of 92.The control group was given venous indwelling needle to nutrition support.while PICC catheter parenteral nutrition support was given to the research group. The hospitalization cost, hospital stay, incidence of adverse reactions, weight, prealbumin,albumin and hemoglobin were compared between the two groups.Results The hospital stay and incidence of adverse reactions of the research group were significantly lower than those of the control group,while the weight,prealbumin and albumin of the former were significantly higher than the latter. Conclusion Application of PICC catheter for parenteral nutrition support for blood cancer patients,can significantly improve their nutritional status, shorten the hospital time and lower their economic burden.
