Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship among acceptance of disability (AOD), resilience and social support in elderly hemiplegic patients after stroke. Methods Totally 124 elderly hemiplegic patients after stroke were investigated with a self-designed demographic questionnaire, acceptance of disability scale (ADS),Connor-Davidson resilience scale (CD-RISC) and social support rating scale (SSRS).Results The total score of ADS was (81.75±11.51),and 88.71% of the patients showed a medium or low level of AOD.Pearson correlation analysis showed that AOD was positively correlated to resilience and social support (r=0.449,0.421,P<0.01). Conclusion AOD of most elderly hemiplegic patients after stroke must be improved, and nursing staff should formulate intervening measures from their resilience and social support.
