Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of cluster keeping-warm management of newborns in rooming-in wards. Methods A total of 600 newborns were listed according to their time of birth and those labelled with odd numbers were selected into a study group and those with even numbers were chosen into a control group, each of 300.Both groups were given routine nursing after their birth, while the study group was additionally provided with cluster keeping-warm management. Results Twenty-four hours after their birth, the temperature of the study group was significanlty more stable than that of the control group, while the incidence of hypoglycemia was significantly lower than the latter. Conclusions Cluster keeping-warm management can help newborns to keep normal temperature and prevent the occurrence of hypoglycemia.
