Preventing urinary retention after lumbar surgery using diuretic Tongl in granules combined with acupressure

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of diuretic Tonglin granules combined with acupressure in preventing urinary retention after lumbar surgery.Methods Totally 240 patients undergoing lumbar operation between January 2014 and March 201 5 were randomly divided into group A,B,C and D.Group A was not given any intervention,while group B,C and D were given acupressure,oral intake of diuretic Tonglin granules and the above combined before pulling out the urine catheter.Then the first voiding time,dysuria,uroschesis,the resetting of catheters and urinary tract infection were compared among the four groups.Results Group D was significantly earlier than the other 3 groups in the first voiding and of the lowest incidence of the above conditions. Conclusion Oral intake of diuretic Tonglin granules combined with acupressure can effectively reduce the incidence of postoperative urinary retention,dysuria,urinary tract infection and the resetting of catheters and promote the early urination after lumbar operation.
