Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of early nursing intervention on acquired debilitation and independent functional status among patients with severe diseases. Methods Totally 120 critically ill patients treated with mechanical ventilation between January 2014 and October 201 5 in ICU were randomly divided into an intervention group and a control group, each of 60.Both groups received routine treatment and nursing, while the intervention group received early nursing intervention within 72 hours after admission. Two groups were compared in the acquired debilitating and independent functional status. Results After the intervention, the UK Medical Research Council score and independent functional recovery of the intervention group were significantly higher than those of the control group, while the incidence of acquired debilitation was significantly lower than that of the control group. Conclusions Early nursing care can effectively reduce the incidence of acquired debilitating diseases among critically ill patients, and significantly improve the patients' independent function.
