Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effects of systematic nursing intervention on patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis . Methods Eighty patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis were randomly divided into an intervention group(n = 40) and a control group(n = 40) , according to a random number table .Both groups were given routine treatment and nursing ,while the intervention group was additionally provided with systematic nursing intervention for 6 months . The bone mineral density (BMD) ,serum osteocalcin (BGP) and life quality were compared between the two groups .Results Lumbar spine BMD in both groups improved significantly compared to before the intervention and the improvement of the intervention group was significantly bigger than that in the control group .After the treatment , the BGP was significantly lower than before the intervention ,and the decrease of the former was significantly bigger than the latter .The quality of life had improved significantly compared with those before treatment in both groups , and the improvement in the mental state , social activities and health concept of the former group was significantly better than the latter group .Conclusion Systematic nursing intervention can improve the life quality of patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis by improving their BMD level ,relieving their clinical symptoms and lowering their BGP levels .
