Status and influence factors of life satisfaction among pregnant women

Abstract:Objective To explore life satisfaction of pregnant women and its influencing factors ,so as to provide scientific basis for antenatal care and intervention .Methods A self-made questionnaire ,satisfaction with life scale (SWLS) and self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) were used to collect information among pregnant women with more than 38 weeks of gestation .Chi-square test and non-conditional logistic regression analysis were performed to find the influencing factors of their life satisfaction .Results The average score of life satisfaction among 467 subjects was 27 .56 ± 6 .41 ,with 69 pregnant women (14 .8% ) unsatisfied with their life . Pregnant women with good family support had 5 .974 times of possibility to be satisfied with life than those with bad family support (OR = 5 .974 ,95% CI :3 .414 ~ 10 .453) .Pregnant without anemia before pregnancy was 3 .322 times more likely to be satisfied with life than those who had anemia before pregnancy (OR =3 .322 ,95% CI :1 .858 ~ 5 .938) .Antepartum anxiety was the main risking factor of life satisfaction . Pregnant women with antepartum anxiety was 0 .234 time more likely to be satisfied with life than those without (OR = 0 .234 ,95% CI :0 .132 ~ 0 .417) .Conclusion The life satisfaction and quality of pregnant women can be improved by strengthening physical care ,family support and mental support .
