Abstract:Objective To study the effect of standardized rehabilitation program on functional outcomes of stroke survivors with vascular cognitive impairment . Methods Sixty-three stroke survivors with vascular cognitive impairment treated in our hospital between February 2013 and 2014 were selected and divided into a rehabilitation group (n = 32) and a control group (n = 31) according to a random number table .Both groups were given routine drug treatment ,while the rehabilitation group was additionally provided with standardized rehabilitation program . Both groups were evaluated before and after the treatment using the Fugl-Meyer assessment scale ,Monterey cognitive assessment scale (MoCA) ,mini-mental state examination (MMSE) and activity of daily living scale (ADL) .Results After the treatment ,the Fugl-Meyer ,MMSE and MoCA scores of the two groups were significantly higher than before treatment ,and the increase of the rehabilitation group was significantly higher than that in the control group .The ADL scores of both groups were lower than before the treatment , and the decrease of the former was significantly bigger than the latter . Conclusion The standardized rehabilitation program can significantly improve the cognitive function of stroke survivors with vascular cognitive impairment ,improve their ability of daily life ,motor function ,and prognosis .
