The correlation between self-management and perceptual control for stroke survivors

Abstract:Objective To investigate the current situation of self-management and perceived control of stroke survivors ,and to explore the correlation between them .Methods Totally 463 stroke survivors were included and investigated using the self-management scale and perceived control questionnaire .Results The mean scores of self-management and perceived control for the 463 included patients were 3 .03 and 13 .34 respectively . The perceived control of the patients was positively related to their self-management and its various dimensions of disease management , medication management ,emotion management ,social function and personnel management ,as well as rehabilitation management .Conclusions The nursing staff should make every effort to improve patients′ perceived control ,so as to enhance their self-management and life quality .
