Application of the special security constraints gloves for patients with restlessness in department of neurosurgery

Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical effects of special safety restraint gloves on patients with agitation in the department of neurosurgery .Methods The newly admitted 72 cases of restlessness patients were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group of 36 cases .The control group adopted the wrist restraining with constraints ,while the observation group took special security constraint gloves .The accidental extubation rate and skin injuries were com-pared between the two groups .Results The accidental extubation rate of gastric tubes ,catheters and vein catheterizations in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group .The skin damage ,skin trench and swelling at the constraint site of the former was weaker than the latter .Conclusions Special security constraint gloves can effectively prevent unexpected tube drawing and decrease complications for patients with agitation in the department of neurosurgery to guarantee their safety .
