The effect of Orem self-care on postoperative nerve function and quality of life in patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage

Abstract:Objective To study the effect of Orem self-care on postoperative nerve function and quality of life in patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage . Methods Totally 112 hypertension cerebral hemorrhage patients undergoing minimally invasive surgeries were divided into an observation group and a control group ,56 cases in each group .Both groups were given holistic nursing ,while the observation group was additionally provided with Orem self-care . After the intervention , the nerve function and quality of life were compared between the two groups using the Chinese stroke scale (CSS) , the national institutes of health stroke scale (NIHSS) and the minimum mental state examination .Results After 2 months′care ,the CSS score and NIHSS score of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group ,while the MMSE score ,together with the score of physical function ,role function ,emotional function ,social function ,cognitive function and global health score of the former was significantly than the latter .Conclusion Orem self-care can effectively improve the patients'nerve function and their quality of life .
