Abstract:Objective To investigate the nasogastric tube insertion method for ICU coma patients ,in order to improve the one-time success rate of it .Methods Eighty cases of ICU coma patients were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group ,40 cases in each group .The control group was inserted using the traditional approach ,while the observation group was inserted with rotating stomach tubes 90~ 180°while pulling the tongue outward with tongue forceps .The occurrence of adverse reactions ,the time of insertion and the one-time success rate of cathetering between the 2 groups were compared .Results The occurrence of choking cough and straying into the airway after cathetering ,as well as the time of insertion in the observation group were significantly lower than the control group (χ2 = 16 .157 ,P= 0 .000 ,t= 20 .145 ,P= 0 .000) , while the one-time success rate of cathetering of the former was significantly higher than the latter (χ2 =6 .275 ,P=0 .012) .Conclusion The new insertion method can improve the one-time success rate of the cathetering and reduce the occurrence of complications .
