Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of different postures on patients′ comfort with application of radial artery compressors in radial percutaneous coronary intervention .Methods Three hundred cases with application of radial artery hemostasis devices after transradial coronary intervention were divided into a flat limb group (n =1 52)and an elevation group (n = 148)with a wrist rest pad under the operated limbs. Then the postoperative wrist circumference changes,Visual Analogue Scale (VAS)pain score, puncture site bleeding and hematoma occurrence were compared between the two groups. Results All the measurements of the elevation group were significantly lower than those of the flat limb group. Conclusions Elevating and fixing of limb with the wrist rest pad after transradial coronary intervention can improve patients'comfort and reduce complications of bleeding and hematoma in the puncture site .
