Demands for continuing nursing care of patients after total hysterectomy

Abstract:Objective To investigate the demand for continuing nursing care of the patients after total hysterectomy ,and formulate the corresponding health education measures .Method Total 450 patients with hysterectomy between January 2010 and October 2013 were selected and investigated using self-made questionnaire about their demands for continuing nursing care.According to the Likert 5 scoring method," very necessary"," comparatively need","uncertainty","don't need so much"and"don't need completely"were scored 5,4,3,2 and 1 points respectively.Results The average score of demand for continuing nursing care was 4.41 ± 1.02, between"comparatively need" and"very necessary".Their demand for knowledge of gynecological malignant tumor ranked first at 94.12%,followed by that for safe medication (92.1 6%),pelvic floor rehabilitation exercises methods and skills (89.22%),diet guidance (87.25%),psychological and emotional adjustment (86.27% ),as well as the home nursing skills (86.27% ).Conclusion Hysterectomy patients′ demands for continuing nursing care are extensive and considerable.
