The impact of full continuity midwifery nursing on VBAC pregnancy outcome and nursing satisfaction

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of full continuity midwifery nursing on the improvement of vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC) pregnancy outcomes and nursing satisfaction.Methods Ninety re-pregnant women giving birth between March 2013 and October 2014 in our hospital,with caesarean section previously were selected and then randomly divided into an observation group and a control group.The control group received traditional segmented maternal care,while the observation group received full continuity midwifery nursing service.The pregnancy outcome and nursing satisfaction of the two groups were compared.Results As compared with the control group,the average labor time and incidence of complications of the observation group were significantly reduced,while the natural childbirth rate significantly was increased .And the nursing satisfaction of the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group. Conclusion The implementation of full continuity midwifery nursing can effectively alleviate the maternal negative emotions,improve the natural delivery rate,reduce the related complications and improve nursing satisfaction.
