Effects of integrative Chinese and western medicine nursing in elderly patients with Qi-deficiency type constipation

Abstract：Objective To study the effects of integrative Chinese and western medicine nursing in elderly patients with Qi-deficiency type constipation. Methods Ninety-two elderly patients with Qi-deficiency constipation were randomly divided into control group (n=46 )and experimental group (n = 46 ). The control group was given regular western nursing, the experimental group was given integrative Chinese and western medicine nursing.After 2 courses of treatment,the effect and recurrence rates were compared between two groups.Results After 2 courses of treatment,the treatment effect of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group(Z=-2.44,P<0.01).The recurrence rate of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group.Conclusions Integrative Chinese and western medicine nursing in elderly patients with Qi-deficiency type constipation has a good treatment effect and lower recurrence rate.
