Posttraumatic growth among patients with first cerebral infarction and the influence factors

Abstract：Objective To investigate the level and influencing factors of posttraumatic growth (PTG)among patients with first cerebral infarction.Methods Totally 120 patients with first cerebral infarction were investigated by a self-designed demographic questionnaire,posttraumatic growth inventory (PTGI),perceived social support scale and Connor-Davidson resilience scale. Results The total score of PTGI was 58.36±13.22,the score of interpersonal relationship dimension was the highest,and the score of new possibilities dimension was the lowest.Multiple stepwise regression showed the influencing factors of PTG were educational level,family economic status,social support and resilience.Conclusions The PTG of patients with first cerebral infarction is influenced by individual factors,nurses should take proper intervention measures to improve their PTG.
