Effects of empowerment theory in health education of hemodialysis patients

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the effects of education based on empowerment theory in the level of biochemical parameters of the hemodialysis patients.Methods Totally 7 1 hemodialysis patients were randomly divided into experimental group (n=3 6 )and control group (n=3 5 ).The experimental group was given education based on empowerment theory,and the control group was given conventional health education.Results The level of serum albumin of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(F=8.440,P<0.01),and the level of serum creatinine was lower than that of the control group(F=5.153,P<0.05).There were no statistical differences in haemoglobin between 2 groups(F=0.582,P>0.05).Conclusion The education based on empowerment theory can improve the level of biochemical parameters of hemodia lysis patients.
