The experimental group had been given acupressure combined with moxibustion for 3 to 5 days ,beginning at 6 hours after surgeries .The intestinal peristalsis recovery and abdominal distension of 2 groups were compared .Results The recovery time of bowel sound ,exhaust time and defecation time for the first time after surgeries in the experimental group was shorter than that in the control group . The abdominal distension in experimental group was less than that in the control group (2 vs 15) .Conclusion Acupressure combined with moxibustion therapy can effectively promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function after gastrointestinal surgeries .
