Effects of Mepliex to prevent infection on orthopedic external fixation pinhole

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effects of Mepliex to prevent infection on orthopedic external fixation pinhole . Methods Sixty limb fracture patients with external fixation after surgeries ,were randomly divided into experimental group(n=29)and control group (n=31) .0 +.5%povidone iodine was used to disinfect pinhole .The experimental group was given the Mepliex to cover wounds ,and the control group was given sterile gauze .The frequencies of dressing change , the swelling and exudation of the wounds around orthopedic external fixation pinholes of 2 groups were compared .Results The frequency of dressing change in experimental group was lower than that in the control group .The swelling and exudation of the wounds occured 3 patients and 9 patients in the experimental group ,which were lower than that in the control group .Conclusion Mepliex can prevent the infection on orthopedic external fixation pinholes .
