Abstract:Objective To investigate effects of intravenous injection with 2 kinds of liquid in operation on postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) after thyroidectomy .Methods Totally 148 patients with thyroidectomy were randomly divided into experimental group (n= 76) and control group (n=72) .The experimental group was given hydroxyethyl starch 130/0 f.4 and sodium chloride injection ,and the control group was given compound sodium lactate solution . PONV rate , intraoperative fluid volume ,bleeding volume ,urine volume of two groups were compared .Results The PONV rate of experimental group(13 .2% ) was lower than that in the control group(26 .4% ) . There were no significant difference of the total fluid volume , blood loss , mean urine volume between two groups .Conclusion Rehydration therapy of hydroxyethyl starch intra-operative can effectively reduce the incidence of PONV of patients with thyroidectomy and improve the prognosis and outcome .
