Effects of enteral nutrition solution in elderly patients with bowel preparation before colonoscopy

Abstract：Objective To observe the effects of oral enteral nutrition solution on the intestinal cleanliness and bowel preparation safety of patients older than 80 years with bowel preparation before colonoscopy .Methods 112 patients were divided into 4 groups according to random number table method ,28 cases in each group .Group A was given sodium phosphate (SP) ,group B was given SP and enteral nutrient solution ,group C was given magnesium sulfate ,group D was given magnesium sulfate and enteral nutrient solution .The intestinal cleanliness ,body mass index ,blood pressure , blood sugar change and the incidence of adverse events after bowel preparation were recorded .Results There were no significant differences in intestinal cleanliness of 4 groups .Change of body mass index ,heart rate ,blood pressure and fasting blood glucose in group B and group D were less than that in group A and group C ,the incidence of adverse reaction was lower than that in group A and group C . Conclusions Enteral nutrition solution for patients who aged over 80 with bowel preparation before colonoscopy can reduce the occurrence of adverse events ,not affect the intestinal cleanliness ,ensure the work efficiency of nursing .
