Prevention method of pressure ulcer caused by cuff of patient with the continued peripheral blood pressure detection in ICU

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of the toilet paper in the prevention of the pressure ulcer induced by the cuff .Method One hundred patients who needed the continued peripheral blood pressure detection were randomly divided into control group (n=50)and observation group(n=50) .The control group was loosen the cuff to relieve the pressure every two hours ,and cleaned the local skin at regular time .The observation group was winded twice times around the measurement part by the ordinary toilet paper ,and then the cuff winded around the periphery of the toilet paper to achieve the continued detection . Results No patient in the observation group occurred pressure ulcer induced by the cuff .Conclusion The ordinary toilet paper could effectively prevent pressure ulcer caused by cuff of the patient who needed the continued peripheral blood pressure detection .
