Application of cluster nursing strategies on preventing unplanned extubation of patients with gastric tube

Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of cluster nursing strategies to prevent unplanned extubation of patients with gastric tube .Methods 217 patients with indwelling gastric tubecases for the first time from January 2012 to November 2013 were divided into control group (n=105)and intervention group (n=112) .The control group was given routine nursing .The intervention group was given nursing according to cluster nursing strategies , including proper fixed stomach tube , appropriate and effective constraint limb , effective sedation analgesia , standardization nursing procedures for high-risk patients ,strengthening the consciousness of patients to prevent dropping tube .Results The stomach tube unplanned extubation rate in the control group was higher than that in intervention group ,and satisfaction was lower than that in intervention group .Conclusion Cluster nursing strategies can effectively reduce the incidence of unplanned extubation and improve the quality of nursing for the hospitalized patients with gastric tube .
