Analysis of the clinical nursing effect of high-quality nursing intervention in patients with secretory otitis media

Abstract：Objective To investigate the practical effects of implementing high-quality nursing for patients with secretory otitis media.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 90 patients with secretory otitis media treated in our hospital from January 2023 to December 2023.The patients were divided into a control group(n=46)receiving routine care and an observation group(n=44)receiving high-quality nursing care.The observation indicators included:duration of sensation of fullness and tinnitus,hearing recovery time,Self-Rating Anxiety/Depression Scale(SAS/SDS)scores,General Comfort Questionnaire(GCQ)scores,36-Item Short Form Health Survey(SF-36)scores,and family satisfaction.Results The duration of sensation of fullness and tinnitus,as well as the hearing recovery time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group[(3.2±0.4)d,(4.1±0.6)d and(5.3±1.0)d vs.(4.4±0.7)d,(5.5±0.8)d and(7.1±1.1)d,respectively,P<0.05].Before treatment,there were no significant differences in SAS and SDS scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,the scores decreased in both groups and were lower in the observation group compared with the control group(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in GCQ and SF-36 scores between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment,the scores increased in both groups and were higher in the observation group compared with the control group(P<0.05).The recurrence rate in the observation group was 4.55%,lower than the 19.57%in the control group(χ2=4.729,P=0.030).Conclusion For patients with secretory otitis media,the implementation of high-quality nursing care can rapidly improve symptoms,specifically alleviate negative emotions and discomfort,thereby enhance the quality of life during treatment.It also helps control the risk of disease recurrence and improves satisfaction,gaining patient acceptance.It is worthy of active promotion and application in clinical practice.
