Application of intensive psychological nursing combined with comfortable care in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis undergoing nasal endoscopic surgery

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of combination of comfortable care and intensive psychological nursing in the treatment of chronic sinusitis by nasal endoscopic surgery.Methods A retrospective study was conducted,enrolling 300 patients with chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS)who were presented to the Department of Otolaryngology from July 2023 to January 2024.They were allocated into two groups based on the intervention received:Group A(n=150)and Group B(n=150).Group A received comfort-oriented nursing care,while Group B received an additional structured intensive psychological nursing intervention on top of the standard comfortable care.A comparative analysis was performed to assess the differences in pain intensity,anxiety levels,comfort degree,and patient satisfaction between the two groups.Results No significant intergroup difference was observed in pain scores at 2 hours postoperatively(P>0.05).However,at postoperative day 1 and day 3,the pain scores in Group B[(3.40±0.72),(2.59±0.44)]were significantly lower than those in Group A[(4.59±0.60),(3.67±0.49)](P<0.05).Preoperative anxiety scale scores were comparable between the groups(P>0.05).Significantly lower anxiety scores were noted in Group B compared with Group A at 2 hours,1 day,and 3 days post-surgery[(40.45±3.27)vs.(52.23±4.01),(36.72±1.95)vs.(48.26±3.16),and(33.06±1.58)vs.(40.29±2.51),respectively](P<0.05).While pre-intervention comfort scores showed no significant difference(P>0.05),the post-intervention comfort score was significantly higher in Group B(113.04±4.25)than in Group A(105.73±4.09)(P<0.05).Furthermore,patient satisfaction was significantly higher in Group B(99.33%)compared with Group A(94.67%)(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined implementation of intensive psychological nursing and comfortable care in the nasal endoscopic surgery nursing of chronic sinusitis is conducive to reducing postoperative pain and anxiety,and improving the comfort and satisfaction of patients,thus has high application value.
