Exploration on the effect and accuracy of spiral CT multiplanar reconstruction combined with cross-sectional imaging in the diagnosis of laryngeal cancer

Abstract：Objective To explore the efficacy and accuracy of spiral CT multiplanar reconstruction technology in the diagnosis of laryngeal cancer.Methods A total of 80 patients with laryngeal cancer diagnosed by histopathological examination and admitted to our hospital from February 2018 to June 2023 were selected as the research subjects.Cross-sectional imaging and cross-sectional multi-planar reconstruction were selected to analyze the diagnostic sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of spiral CT examination for intra-and extra-tissue invasion of larynx.Results The diagnostic sensitivities of the cross-sectional multiplanar reconstruction for the laryngeal structures such as the epiglottis,aryloepiglottis folds,ventricular bands,vocal cords,and anterior joint were 100.00%,100.00%,100.00%,97.10%,and 96.55%,respectively.All were higher than those of the cross-sectional imaging(91.38%,93.55%,92.31%,88.71%,and 85.19%,respectively;P<0.05).The diagnostic accuracies of the cross-sectional multiplanar reconstruction for the laryngeal structures such as the epiglottis,aryloepiglottis fold,ventricular band,vocal cords,and anterior joint were 100.00%,97.50%,94.50%,95.00%,and 95.00%,respectively.They were significantly higher than those of the cross-sectional imaging(83.75%,83.75%,83.75%,78.75%,77.50%,respectively;P<0.05).The diagnostic sensitivities of the cross-sectional multiplanar reconstruction for the epiglottic space,paratygeal space and piriform fossa of the external laryngeal structures were 100.00%,100.00%and 97.87%respectively,which were significantly higher than those of the cross-sectional imaging at 87.93%,86.89%and 79.17%respectively(P<0.05).The diagnostic accuracies of the cross-sectional multiplanar reconstruction for the epiglottic space,paratygeal space and piriform pit of the external laryngeal structures were 100.00%,98.75%and 96.25%respectively,which were significantly higher than those of the cross-sectional imaging at 90.00%,87.50%and 85.00%respectively(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with simple cross-sectional imaging,the spiral CT cross-sectional multiplanar reconstruction technology has a high accuracy rate in diagnosing laryngeal cancer,providing a favorable reference for the early intervention of the disease.
