Analysis of the therapeutic effect of pediatric xiao'er chiqiao qingre granules and amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium on acute tonsillitis

Abstract：Objective To explore the application effect of Xiao'er Chiqiao Qingre Granules combined with injection of amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium in the treatment of children with acute tonsillitis.Method A total of 116 cases of acute tonsillitis patients admitted to our hospital from July 2022 to June 2023 were selected for the study.After random grouping,the control group(n=58)was treated with injection of amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium for intervention.The observation group was treated with a combination of Xiao'er Chiqiao Qingre Granules on the basis of the control group,and the therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups.Results Compared with the control group,the total effective rate of clinical treatment in the observation group was higher(96.55%vs 86.21%,χ2=10.157,P=0.000).The improvements of clinical symptoms of fever,sore throat and swallow obstruction in the obervation group were earlier than those in the control group[(1.01±0.46)d vs(1.65±0.32)d,(1.82±0.51)d vs(2.13±0.44)d,and(3.17±0.37)d vs(4.59±0.24)d;t=2.175,4.166,6.703;P=0.032,0.015,0.000,respectively].Compared with before treatment,the TCM symptom scores of both groups of children decreased after treatment,and the primary symptom score(6.79±1.32)and secondary symptom score(2.43±0.32)in the observation group were both lower than those in the control group[(8.73±1.27)and(3.75±0.26);t=8.066,24.382;P<0.001,<0.001,respectively].Compared with before treatment,the expression levels of CRP,IL-6 and IFN-γ in both groups of children decreased after treatment,and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group[(10.95±1.79)mg/L vs(13.59±2.01)mg/L,(8.67±1.80)ng/L vs(10.09±1.85)ng/L,(20.07±4.87)ng/L vs(26.24±4.55)ng/L;t=7.470,4.190,7.050;P<0.001,<0.001,<0.001,respectively].There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of Xiao'er Chiqiao Qingre Granules and amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium is effective in treating acute tonsillitis in children,accelerating symptom recovery,reducing inflammation,and ensuring safety.
